Holidays and Schedule Changes:
Classes will be cancelled for Family Day, Monday, February 20th. Classes will not be in session for only one weekduring the Spring Break starting Monday, March 20th. Classes will begin again Monday, March 27th. Please let us know if your child will be away for longer, so that we can make any arrangements for classes and changes to the schedule, if necessary. There are no classes on Good Friday, April 7th. Classes will be in session on Saturday, April 8th and Monday, April 10th, with a possible schedule change. Again, please let us know if you will be away.Please visit the Calendar Page for dates of events throughout the year.
Dressing for Dance:
It is important for safety and training purposes that students wear proper ballet shoes, have hair pulled back neatly in a bun, and wear no jewellery. Students should have a dance bag to keep all dance equipment and hair supplies together. Please put your name in your dance shoes. All cellular phones need to be silenced or turned off during classes.
Costumes:
Costumes are now being organized for our Year End Performances. There is a costume deposit required for each dance your child is performing in. Saturday morning St.1 class costume deposit is $70, and all other deposits are $80per costume. The costume deposits are due by March 1st.
Cecchetti Spring Workshop:
There will be a the Cecchetti Spring workshop at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Burnaby, BC, Sunday, April 2ndfor students Gr. 4/5 or Gr. 6/Inter. who are interested in attending. More information will be available soon.
Photographs:
Each year we have a photographer come to the hall in early May to take class and individual pictures of students in their Recital costumes. The date and schedule will be available shortly.
Studio Dress Rehearsal:
Our first dress rehearsal will take place in the studio in May. This gives all of our students a chance to perform for one another, see all of the dances and costumes, as well as rehearse in costume for upcoming performances. The date to be announced in April.
Seniors Residence Performance:
Plans are now being made to have a short performance for Seniors now that this is possible again. The date(s) will be announced soon.
Dress Rehearsal and Recital: Thursday, June 1st:
Plans are being made for all students to participate in a year end performance. This year we are planning a performance at Glenlyon Norfolk School Theatre, 800 Richmond St. on Thursday, June 1st. Everyone is looking forward to dancing on a stage again! Although our show will be smaller and shorter than in past years, we wanted our students to enjoy the experience of performing in a theatre again. We are planning a schedule that will include a dress rehearsal after school and the performance in the evening of the same day
